It has some synthetic notes, especially in the opening. However, it captures the general vibe. Is the original worth 4x the price? Probably not. If you want a cheap, inoffensive, everyday scent, Hunter Man does the job. It's a safe blind buy for a younger guy. Just don’t overspray. ### Notes & Nuances Hunter Man opens with a blast of grapefruit. It's bright, but there's a synthetic edge that betrays the budget. Rosemary and cardamom are there, but muted. The heart shifts to a floral sweetness - mostly ylang-ylang on my skin. The tuberose is way in the back. Comparing it to Lacoste L.12.12 White? It's in the same ballpark, maybe 92% similar. The Lacoste is smoother, more refined. Hunter Man has a harsher, more direct approach. The drydown is a pleasant suede, cedar and a hint of leather. It's the best part, but arrives too late. ### How Long Does it Last? This isn't a powerhouse. Projection is moderate for about an hour, then it settles close to the skin. Longevity is decent. I get about 4-5 hours. Reapplication is necessary if you want it to last all day. It's acceptable given the price."
