Moth Impression
Perfume Parlour
Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
"### Olfactory Experience Moth Impression opens with an aggressive blast of cinnamon and clove, reminiscent of potpourri left too long in the sun. The black pepper attempts to add a grounding spiciness, but it’s largely overshadowed by the other components. The heart is where it noticeably deviates. The promised heliotrope and iris are detectable, but rendered with a cloying sweetness, almost like marzipan that's gone stale. The jasmine is a whisper, thankfully. The drydown is where the issues intensify. Instead of ambergris, I get a sharp, almost acrid, smokiness mingling with a disconcerting plasticky sweetness. The guaiac wood presents with the subtlety of a sledgehammer, leaving a vague campfire impression that doesn't quite mesh. ### Bottom Line If this fragrance were a character, it would be that overly enthusiastic, slightly off-key karaoke singer who's having a great time but is ultimately tone-deaf to the room. ### How Long Does it Last? On my skin, Moth Impression lasted approximately 5 hours, with projection extending to about an arm's length for the first hour before quickly becoming a skin scent. I tested it during a cool evening walk and in a climate-controlled office environment. In both scenarios, the longevity and projection were consistent."
