Scent Breakdown
Art du Parfum (Armaf) is, undeniably, an attempt to mimic Sauvage Elixir. The opening hits you with a blast of spiced nutmeg and cinnamon. It’s noticeably harsher than Dior’s version, a bit more synthetic-smelling around the edges. The cardamom is there, but plays a minor role. The heart introduces a clean lavender, much like the original, but thinner. As it dries down, the licorice and sandalwood become more prominent, creating a sweet, slightly woody base. It captures about 89% of the Elixir DNA. The main difference is that the clone lacks the refinement and depth of the Dior.
Projection Power
Projection is strong for the first 2-3 hours. It announces itself. After that, it settles closer to the skin. Longevity is respectable, I get a solid 6-8 hours on skin, and even longer on clothes. Not bad at all point.
Is it Worth It?
If you’re obsessed with Sauvage Elixir but can't stomach the cost, this is a worthy alternative. Is it a perfect match? No. Does it offer a similar experience ? Absolutely. It has a slightly synthetic edge that's detectable, but only if you're actively searching for it. For the budget-conscious fragrance enthusiast, this is a solid pickup. Whether Sauvage Elixir is truly 10x better is debatable. I'd argue it's not.
