Final Thoughts
If you crave Blue Sapphire but balk at the price tag, La Peregrina is a reasonable alternative. It scratches the itch without breaking the bank. It's not a perfect dupe, and has some synthetic edges, particularly in the floral heart. However, of the Boadicea, it’s a worthwhile compromise for the budget-conscious fragrance enthusiast. This is a good daily driver.
Olfactory Experience
Ayaam's La Peregrina aims for Blue Sapphire. The opening delivers a bright, lemony chamomile with a herbal sage kick. It’s pleasant, but noticeably sharper than the original’s smoother citrus. The heart leans heavily on rose. While Boadicea’s Blue Sapphire has a creamy floral blend, this clone is more rose-dominant and feels a bit more synthetic. The dry down is where it most closely resembles the inspiration: a woody, ambery patchouli accord. But the oud is dialed way down here. I'd say it captures roughly 90% of the original’s DNA, missing some of the luxurious depth and complexity.
Projection Power
Performance is decent . La Peregrina gives me around 5-6 hours of noticeable wear. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then settles closer to the skin. Not bad for a budget fragrance. You might need a respray midday.
