The Scent Profile
Air Force by Dubai Essences aims for Montblanc Legend, and it gets reasonably close. The opening blast is recognizably Legend-esque: a fruity, lavender mix. The pineapple isn't as bright and natural as in the original; it leans slightly synthetic here. The heart introduces that familiar apple note, alongside a vague dried fruit accord. The oakmoss is muted, replaced by something a bit more generic "woody." The drydown of tonka and sandalwood is pleasant, if a tad simplified. It’s about 91% of the way to Legend, missing some of the original’s refined, smoother edges.
How Long Does it Last?
Longevity is surprisingly decent. I get about 5-6 hours on my skin, which is acceptable point. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then it settles into a skin scent. Don’t expect this to fill a room. Reapplication is necessary if you want it to last the whole day.
The Verdict
If you want the Montblanc Legend DNA on a strict budget, Air Force delivers. It's not a perfect match, and the synthetic touches are apparent, but it’s a viable option. Is Legend ten times better? No. If you want the real deal and have the money, go for it. But if you just need a decent, everyday fragrance that smells similar and won't break the bank, Air Force is a solid, cost-effective choice. Buy it if you value affordability over top-tier quality.
