Scent Breakdown

Voux Elegante opens with a forceful lavender, less aromatic than expected, more akin to a lavender-scented cleaning product initially. The bergamot contributes a slight zest, quickly overshadowed by a dominant honey accord that lacks depth, presenting a saccharine sweetness, similar to corn syrup with a bitter edge. The cinnamon in the heart is present but muted, failing to deliver the spicy warmth found in the inspiration. The cashmere wood introduces a powdery element, yet it leans synthetic, reminiscent of dryer sheets. The drydown reveals a vanilla that smells artifical, with a hint of synthetic tobacco - very faint, closer to pipe tobacco ash than the actual leaf. Tonka bean adds minimal depth; this lacks the coumarin richness I expect. The blend diverges significantly; the components are present but not expertly woven together.

To Buy or Not to Buy?

Voux Elegante is best suited for cooler weather, ideally autumn, due to its sweet and somewhat cloying nature. The forceful projection makes it unsuitable for close-quarters environments; better reserved for outdoor gatherings or casual evening settings. I wouldn't recommend this for formal occasions or professional settings.

Projection Power

On my skin, Voux Elegante projects aggressively within the first two hours, filling a small room. Projection then subsides to within arm's reach for the next four hours. Overall longevity is around eight hours, although the final hour is merely a skin scent. I tested this in a climate-controlled office setting.
