Scentonym Analysis
Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
Is it Worth It?
Green Valley Village is a solid clone . For $30, it's a no-brainer. It's a good everyday choice. The original is undoubtedly better, richer, and more complex. But is it ten times better? Probably not.
How it Smells
Green Valley Village opens with a juicy blast of litchi and cassis, trying its best to mimic the Greenwich Village vibe. It's close, maybe 85% there. There's a slightly sharper, more synthetic edge compared to Bond No. 9's smoother blend. The heart features those watery florals like water lily and jasmine, which are nice, but it lacks the depth of the original. Drydown is where it veers off most noticeably. The ambroxan, praline, and vanilla create a sweet, somewhat generic base. Greenwich Village has a more sophisticated, musky finish. It's pleasant enough, just not as refined.
The Performance Stats
This isn't a beast mode fragrance, but it gets the job done. I get about 5-6 hours of moderate projection, then it settles closer to the skin. It's definitely a workday scent, something you can apply and not worry about overpowering anyone. Reapplication is a possibility if you want it to last the whole day.
