Scent Breakdown
Esscential #7824 aims for Hermès H24, and gets... close. The clary sage opening is there, a decent herbal green. However, it lacks the original's brightness, a slightly muddier feel. The metallic heart is present, but more like a dull aluminum than H24’s refined, almost shimmering, mineral quality. The drydown shifts towards narcissus and a hint of rosewood. It's not unpleasant, but the rosewood is VERY faint. Overall, I'd say it captures around 90% of the H24 DNA. The synthetic edges are noticeable, particularly in the metallic accord. It's a good effort, but the quality difference is apparent.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
It scratches the itch. However, understand that you're getting a diluted, slightly rougher version of the original. If you absolutely need that refined, high-quality feel, save up for the Hermès. But if you want a cheap and cheerful H24-esque scent for everyday wear, this is a viable option.
The Performance Stats
Performance is what you'd expect at this price point. I get about 4 hours of noticeable projection, fading to a skin scent around the 6-hour mark. It's not a beast mode fragrance, but it's adequate for a workday if you don't mind respraying. Don't expect all-day performance.
