Notes & Nuances
IRIDA starts with a bold, candied cherry, almost like maraschino liqueur spilled on a ginger snap. It lacks the initial boozy depth of Electric Cherry, leaning instead into a syrupy sweetness that's undeniably cheerful, but also a little…one-dimensional. The jasmine sambac in the heart tries to add sophistication, yet gets somewhat buried under the lingering cherry. The drydown is where the divergence becomes most apparent: the pink pepper provides a subtle spicy hum, but it's overwhelmed by a clean, slightly powdery musk that feels a bit generic, losing the playful tartness of the original. This leans much heavier into a soapy aroma.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
IRIDA is best suited for lighthearted daytime activities. Think weekend errands, coffee dates, or casual spring picnics. It's a fun, uncomplicated scent that doesn't take itself too seriously. While not a dead ringer for Electric Cherry, it captures a similar upbeat vibe, making it a solid choice when you want a sweet and bright fragrance.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is moderate, clocking in at around 5 hours on my skin. Projection is initially quite strong, reaching about an arm's length for the first hour, before settling closer to the body. I wore this to a casual brunch and later to a daytime concert in the park. It performed respectably in both scenarios, but needed a respray mid-afternoon to maintain its presence.
