To Buy or Not to Buy?
This is for the person who wants the BR540 vibe without the BR540 price tag. It’s a great option for everyday wear, especially if you want to project an air of confident sweetness. The synthetic edges are noticeable, especially up close, but from a distance, it's convincing. If you value hyper-realistic refinement, stick with MFK. But, if you're budget-conscious and want to capture a similar aura, Amber Oud Ruby Edition gets you surprisingly close. For 1/10th the price, it's a worthy stand-in.
Scent Breakdown
Amber Oud Ruby Edition bursts open with that familiar saffron and almond combo – immediately calling to mind Baccarat Rouge 540. It's about 85% there, but the almond has a sharper, slightly more synthetic edge. The jasmine is present, adding a touch of floral sweetness, but it’s less refined than the original. The cedar grounds the heart, preventing it from becoming cloying. In the drydown, the ambergris surfaces, offering a warm, comforting sweetness. The woody notes are noticeable but play a supporting role. It's the musk in the base that gives away the clone. The musk is quite pronounced, lingering longer than the ambergris, and it has a slight laundry sheet vibe, not present in the original.
The Performance Stats
Projection is strong for the first two hours, filling a room easily. After that, it settles closer to the skin, lasting around 6-7 hours total. Not beast mode, but definitely respectable .
