To Buy or Not to Buy?
Game of Spades Win is a winner (pun intended!). It captures the essence of Greenwich Village without the hefty price tag. If you enjoy sweet, fruity-florals and don’t need the nuanced complexity of the original, this is a great daily driver. If you just want to smell good without breaking the bank, pick this up. Perfect for spring and summer days.
Olfactory Experience
Game of Spades Win kicks off with a juicy blast of litchi and cassis. There’s a definite citrus pop from the mandarin, though it leans slightly synthetic. Compared to Greenwich Village, it's aiming for the same fruity-floral vibe, but it lacks the green, earthy edge of the original. The heart is pleasant, with peony and jasmine coming through, but it's a touch simpler. The base is where they diverge the most. While Greenwich Village goes deep with patchouli and oakmoss, Win goes sweeter with praline and vanilla amplified by Ambroxan. It's about 95% similar, losing some of the sophistication in the dry down.
Performance Reality Check
Longevity is decent. I get a solid 6-7 hours on my skin, with moderate projection for the first two. It creates a nice scent bubble without being obnoxious. It's definitely office-friendly and won't clear a room.
