Artisan Ethnique attempts to replicate Sugar Addict, and achieves a respectable approximation. The opening presents an immediate blast of sugary sweetness tempered by cocoa and tonka. A slight alcoholic tinge, presumably the rum accord, is present, but feels less integrated compared to the original. The heart showcases a vanilla-cinnamon pairing, leaning heavily into a gourmand profile. The drydown introduces a coffee note blended with the promised cashmere wood and labdanum, which provides a welcome, if somewhat synthetic, grounding element. The labdanum is dialed back compared to Sugar Addict. Overall, I'd peg it at about 87% similar. The smoother, higher-quality ingredients of the original are undeniably missing.

How Long Does it Last?

Longevity is moderate. I observed approximately 5-6 hours on skin. Projection is initially strong, pushing out a foot or two for the first hour, before settling closer to the skin. The sugary facets persist, though with reduced intensity as the base notes become more prominent. The synthetic edges are noticeable upon close inspection, but might be overlooked by the casual wearer. If you're craving Sugar Addict, but balk at the price, this will scratch the itch to a certain degree. But if budget is a primary concern, Artisan Ethnique offers a reasonable compromise. Recommended for gourmand enthusiasts on a tight budget.
