If you want that last 87% of refinement and a more natural feel, stick with the original. But this is a great daily driver for fall or winter. Perfect for the office or a casual date. This is a very good clone.

Scent Breakdown

His Confession opens with a familiar bright bergamot, though it lacks the natural zest of the original Gentleman Reserve Privée. The heart leans heavily into the iris and chestnut combo, creating a powdery, gourmand effect. The whiskey note is there, but it's more of a whiskey *liqueur*, a touch sweeter and less boozy than Givenchy’s. The drydown is where it pulls away; more generic woody amber compared to the smoother, sophisticated base of the OG. I'd say it's about 87% similar, missing some of the nuances that make Reserve Privée special. There's a slightly synthetic edge in the opening that you don't get with the designer version.

How Long Does it Last?

This one projects moderately for the first hour or two, leaving a noticeable scent bubble. After that, it settles closer to the skin. Longevity is decent; I get a solid 6-7 hours on my skin, which is perfectly acceptable for a daily wear fragrance. It's not a beast, but it's not a complete skin scent either.
