Is it Worth It?

Wearing Jasoor is akin to attending a costume party dressed as the real thing. It captures a general likeness, but the details are off. It has a youthful, playful vibe at first, but it lacks the elegance of the original, instead settling into a somewhat pedestrian, unremarkable finish. You gain boldness in the opening, but you lose refinement and complexity as it develops.

First Impressions & Dry Down

Jasoor opens with a candied apple blast, reminiscent of those caramel-covered apples from fall fairs, but with a sharper, almost medicinal edge. The bergamot is subtle, a brief citrus flicker before the cardamom kicks in, lending a spicy, slightly dirty warmth. The heart loses much of the initial sweetness, settling into a soapy lavender, somewhat generic, propped up by a green herbaceousness from the clary sage and geranium. The drydown is where Jasoor departs from its muse; the tobacco leaf note smells musty, like damp pipe tobacco left in a leather pouch, and the patchouli is earthy, lacking the refined sweetness present in Born in Roma Coral Fantasy. The vetiver is almost undetectable beneath the other heavier base notes.

How Long Does it Last?

Longevity is moderate, projecting strongly for the first 2 hours, easily filling a room, before gradually fading to a skin scent around the 6-hour mark. It performed best in cooler temperatures, but the synthetic opening became cloying in humid conditions. I tested it during a casual outing and received a few compliments, but it lacked the sophisticated charm I expected.
