The Verdict
Awaan is a solid alternative to Sundazed. If you're after a high-quality, photorealistic citrus-floral, stick with the original. But if you want a similar vibe and don't mind a slightly synthetic, sweeter edge, Awaan is a good deal. The cotton candy might be too much for some. But for a fun, summer scent on a budget, Awaan does the trick.
First Impressions & Dry Down
Awaan goes for Sundazed's bright citrus and sweet heart, and gets surprisingly close. The opening is a blast of mandarin and lemon, though the lemon leans more towards cleaner/artificial than the Byredo's slightly more natural take. The neroli and jasmine come through quickly, giving it that sunny, floral vibe. Where it really differs is the drydown. Sundazed has a more nuanced, creamy musk. Awaan's cotton candy note is louder, bordering on cloying at times, and the white musk is a bit sharper. I'd put it at about 85% similarity overall.
Longevity & Projection
Longevity is decent. I get about 5-6 hours on skin, projecting moderately for the first hour, then settling closer. On clothes, it lingers longer, but the cotton candy note becomes more prominent. Don't overspray; it can get headache-inducing.
