The Scent Profile
Shams Al Shampoos Rose Taifi goes straight for the rose, just like Montale's Roses Night. It's a jammy, almost candied rose, but with a slightly sharper, synthetic edge in the opening compared to the original. That harshness fades pretty quickly though, giving way to the patchouli heart. The patchouli is clean and earthy, not overly dirty or challenging. It grounds the sweetness of the rose. The drydown is a cozy blend of musk and amber. I'd say it captures about 92% of the Roses Night vibe. The main difference is the slightly synthetic rose in the initial spray; Roses Night smells smoother and more natural from the get-go.
The Performance Stats
This stuff lasts! I get a solid 7-8 hours on skin, and it projects moderately for the first 2-3 hours. It creates a nice scent bubble without being overpowering. On clothes, it lingers even longer, easily a full day. Not bad for a clone. The opening is a little rough around the edges, but the drydown is gorgeous. This clone delivers a very similar experience . A great daily driver for rose lovers, especially in cooler weather.
