Scentonym Analysis
Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
Bottom Line
Wicked is a competent clone for those who want the Invictus Aqua vibe on a tight budget. The synthetic edge is noticeable, but it's not a deal breaker if you consider the price. If you're obsessed with ultra-high quality and natural ingredients, stick to the original. However, if you want a daily driver that smells similar and won't break the bank, Wicked is a solid choice. For the value-conscious, Wicked provides a viable alternative.
Olfactory Experience
Wicked aims for Invictus Aqua 2016, and hits close. The opening blast is all grapefruit and salty marine air, a decent imitation. It's noticeably sharper than the original; a bit screechy. The heart of bay leaf and violet tries its best but lacks the smoothness of the inspiration. Hedione gives it an airy, floral touch, but there's a definite synthetic undercurrent. The dry down is where it deviates most. The ambergris is a pale imitation, leaning towards an artificial amber. Guaiac wood adds a touch of dryness, but the overall effect is less refined than the original Paco Rabanne. I'd peg it around 90% similar overall.
Longevity & Projection
Projection is moderate for the first hour, creating a pleasant scent bubble. After that, it quickly settles closer to the skin. Longevity is decent . I get about 4-5 hours total, which is acceptable. Don't expect all-day performance.
