The Scent Profile
Okay, so December Rose is Paris Corner's take on Fenty. Right off the bat, you get that juicy tangerine and a slightly tart blueberry. It’s bright, but the opening has a *touch* of synthetic-ness that the original avoids. The rose in the heart is definitely there, but it's blended well with the magnolia, giving it a creamy floral vibe. It doesn't feel like a straight-up rose bomb. As it dries, you get the patchouli and musk. It’s a clean patchouli, not the earthy, dirty kind. I'd say it captures about 87% of the Fenty DNA. December Rose lacks some of the refinement and smooth edges of the original, but it's close enough for everyday wear.
Performance Reality Check
the performance is solid. I get about 6 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first hour or two. It becomes more of a skin scent after that. Definitely better than some other cheapies out there. Don't expect it to fill a room all day.
Bottom Line
December Rose is a good buy if you like the Fenty profile but don't want to drop the big bucks. It's a solid daily driver for the office or casual outings. If you are extremely sensitive to synthetic notes, sample first. For everyone else, December Rose gets the job done nicely.
