To Buy or Not to Buy?
Expressions III is a solid option if you crave a similar vibe to Louis Vuitton Imagination without the hefty price tag. Is it a 1:1 dupe? No. Does it capture the essence? Reasonably well. If you value nuanced ingredients and ultimate refinement, stick with the original. However, if you're a value hunter like me, looking for a good approximation for everyday wear, this is a worthwhile gamble. A good dumb reach.
The Scent Profile
Expressions III comes right out with a blast of citrus, trying its best to mimic LV's Imagination. Bergamot is there, bright, but a tad harsher. This isn't quite as smooth as the original. The tea note peeks through in the mid, blended with a noticeable black pepper kick. It attempts the sophistication of the inspiration, but lands slightly more synthetic. The ambroxan and musk base provides a familiar, clean finish. It deviates most in the drydown, where it lacks the depth and complexity of Imagination's more nuanced amber accord. Overall, maybe 90% similar, with a touch less finesse.
Projection Power
Decent performer . I get about 5-6 hours of noticeable projection before it settles closer to the skin. It projects moderately for the first two hours, leaving a nice scent bubble. Don't expect all-day power, but it's easily reapplied.
