How it Smells
Veteran Oud starts with an immediate oud blast, but be warned, it's not the refined, expensive kind. It's a slightly sharper, more synthetic oud than Armani's Stronger With You Oud. The lavender tries its best to smooth things out in the mid, but it struggles against the initial harshness. As it dries down, the vanilla and amber become more prominent, attempting to mimic the warm, sweet base of the original. It gets about 85% of the way there. The missing ingredient? Real depth and richness. It's a passable imitation, but the difference is noticeable.
How Long Does it Last?
This stuff projects! For the first hour, you'll definitely be noticed. After that, it calms down to a moderate bubble. Longevity is decent. I get about 6 hours on my skin. Not bad but definitely not an all-day performer. You might need to reapply if you want it to last. If you're okay with a slightly less polished, more synthetic version, then this could be worth considering. For the value-conscious, who just want a sweet, oud-ish fragrance without breaking the bank, this will do the job.
