Conclusion
This fragrance is best suited for a young individual, perhaps a student, who favors sweet gourmand scents with a playful, almost cartoonish character. Someone who frequents casual gatherings and prefers a fragrance that announces itself without demanding too much attention.
The Scent Profile
Perfect Extra opens with a bracing ginger note, almost candied. The thyme is present, yet subdued, not quite herbaceous, instead leaning towards a soapy aroma. Grapefruit is implied rather than explicitly present; I detect a generalized citrus zestiness. The heart unfolds into a syrupy vanilla accord, the boozy element attempting to emulate liquor comes across as more of a cloying brown sugar accord, lacking any real depth. The cinnamon is strangely muted, almost like a cinnamon flavored hard candy. The drydown is where the divergence from the inspiration becomes most apparent. The myrrh is rendered thin and lacks the resinous quality I expect. Instead, a pervasive sugar note persists, melding with a cedar that has a distinct pencil shavings quality. It shares a passing resemblance to the intended inspiration, but with a noticeably synthetic acetone edge.
Performance Reality Check
Longevity is moderate, clocking in at approximately 5 hours on skin. Projection is initially strong, reaching about one arm's length for the first hour, then quickly settling closer to the skin. Tested in both indoor and outdoor environments.
