The base is where the divergence becomes more pronounced. The tobacco note smells like dried-out pipe tobacco left in a leather pouch for too long, losing its sweetness and gaining a musty quality. Sandalwood offers a fleeting creaminess, quickly overtaken by an ashy ambergris accord, imparting a chalky sensation on the palate. Compared to my recollection of the inspiration, the absence of verdant, grassy notes renders this composition flatter, less dynamic.

Wearing this iteration requires a recalibration of expectations. The brightness of the initial impression offers a glimmer of hope, yet the subsequent development exposes a lack of depth. While the core elements are present, the nuanced blending and refined ingredients of the original are undeniably absent. This captures the *idea* of Tabarome, but not its complete, luxurious execution. The missing vibrancy, the somewhat crude tobacco, and the chalky ambergris ultimately make for a less compelling, less satisfying experience.

Longevity is moderate, hovering around 5 hours. Projection initially extends to arm's length, then rapidly contracts to a skin scent within 2 hours. Tested in a controlled indoor environment at 22 degrees Celsius, and during a brisk walk outdoors. Performance suffered in the colder air, becoming almost undetectable.
