How it Smells
Fattan by Rasasi aims squarely at Terre d'Hermes. The opening citrus is bright, a mix of orange and grapefruit but noticeably sharper and more synthetic than the Hermès original. Less natural zest, more cleaning product zing. The peppery heart tries hard, and it's reasonably successful. You get that dry, earthy spice. However, it's a thinner, less nuanced pepper than you find in Terre d'Hermes. The base is where the similarities truly shine. Vetiver and cedar are prominent, lending a woody, earthy dryness. Patchouli adds a grounding warmth. It lands at about 90% of the Terre d'Hermes experience; the overall effect is pleasing but lacks the richness and depth of the inspiration.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
Fattan is a solid value proposition. Is it a 1:1 clone of Terre d'Hermes? No. But it delivers a very similar experience. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Terre d'Hermes for daily wear and don't mind a slightly synthetic edge, Fattan is a worthwhile purchase. Is Terre d'Hermes ten times better? Debatable. Ten times the *price*? Absolutely. This is for the budget-conscious fragrance enthusiast.
Projection Power
Performance is respectable . I get about 6-7 hours of wear with moderate projection for the first 2 hours. It quickly settles closer to the skin, becoming a subtle, office-friendly scent. Don't expect beast mode; it's a steady performer, not a room filler.
