Roohy Tehbak opens with a blast of white florals – intensely sweet jasmine and gardenia that borders on cloying. It’s certainly evocative of Belle d’Opium’s floral heart, but lacks the original’s finesse. The incense is there, but instead of smoky sophistication, it’s more like cheap incense sticks from a gas station. A vague fruity sweetness emerges alongside a white pepper note that, unfortunately, has a sharpness resembling hairspray. The base offers a predictable blend of sandalwood and patchouli; however, the amber accord smells noticeably synthetic, imparting a plasticky edge to the drydown, a far cry from the smooth warmth of its inspiration. The resemblance is present, but the quality simply doesn't hold up.

Final Thoughts

This fragrance is best suited for cooler weather, perhaps early spring or late autumn evenings. The heavy florals and cloying sweetness make it unsuitable for daytime wear or professional environments. It’s a better choice for casual, nighttime settings where its boldness won't be as overpowering.

How Long Does it Last?

Roohy Tehbak boasts impressive longevity, clinging to the skin for 7-8 hours. Projection is moderate, extending about an arm's length for the first two hours before settling closer to the skin. I tested it during a moderately warm autumn day and found the intense florals became overwhelming in the heat.
