Conclusion
Is Insurrection II Wild a perfect clone? No. Does it offer a respectable imitation of Pure Havana ? Absolutely. If you crave that sweet tobacco profile but can't stomach the inflated prices of discontinued Pure Havana, this is a solid option. It has some rough synthetic edges, but they are very hard to discern. Someone on a tight budget? Grab it. Paying 10x for a vintage bottle of the original? Only if ultimate realism is the only acceptable result.
First Impressions & Dry Down
Insurrection II Wild shoots for the moon – Mugler's Pure Havana – and lands somewhere among the stars. The opening blast is a sweet tobacco bomb; the white honey and tobacco are very forward. It's maybe 92% similar to Pure Havana in the opening. The heart shifts towards vanilla and cacao, attempting to mirror the original's gourmand depth. It's close, but here's where the budget shows. A slightly synthetic edge creeps in, lacking the rich smoothness of Pure Havana. The dry down presents amber, labdanum and styrax. It provides a warm and slightly resinous base, but it's less complex than the original.
Wear time & Sillage
Performance is decent . I get about 6-7 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first 2 hours. It projects less than Pure Havana, settling closer to the skin after the initial burst. Don't expect beast mode, but it's far from weak.
