Conclusion
Mojave Flower captures a good portion of Mojave Ghost's essence. If you crave that minimalist, desert-flower vibe on a budget, this is a worthy contender. However, a discerning nose will detect the synthetic edges, especially in the opening and base. But if you just want the *impression* of effortless cool, Mojave Flower gets you close enough for daily wear. A worthwhile compromise.
How it Smells
Mojave Flower opens with a sweet, almost pear-like fruitiness thanks to the sapodilla note – a definite shift from Mojave Ghost’s more ethereal ambrette start. It's pleasant, but hints at a synthetic nature that the original cleverly masks. The heart of magnolia and violet is where the resemblance strengthens, maybe hitting 90% of Mojave Ghost's delicate floral spirit. Sandalwood emerges smoothly, and the dry down of ambergris and cedar offers a woody warmth, but the ambergris leans slightly synthetic, creating a less nuanced base compared to Byredo's. It lacks the ghostly, airy quality of the OG.
How Long Does it Last?
Don't expect a marathon. Mojave Flower projects moderately for the first hour, leaving a soft, comforting bubble. After 4-5 hours, it retreats to a skin scent. It's intimate, not overpowering. If you want beast mode, look elsewhere.
