Olfactory Experience

The initial blast is a sweet, unfiltered tobacco - think fresh pipe tobacco rather than a cured, aged leaf. The honey is viscous, almost medicinal, like a propolis tincture with a sugary backbone. The heart veers from its inspiration, introducing a dusty cocoa powder note and the barest whisper of patchouli, lending a grounded earthiness. The drydown retains a syrupy amber sweetness, but the labdanum adds a curious, slightly acrid edge, almost like burnt caramel, contrasting the softer styrax which gives it a resinous quality. It diverges from the original's refined sweetness, favoring a somewhat bolder, less nuanced sweetness.

The Verdict

This is a scent for cool nights and confident personalities. It works best when you want to make a statement without being overpowering - ideal for a dimly lit jazz club, a casual date where you want to project effortless charisma, or a solitary evening spent reading by the fire. It projects a cultivated image, albeit with a touch of unpolished audacity.

Longevity & Projection

On my skin, this scent projects strongly for the first 2-3 hours, easily reaching beyond arm's length. It gradually settles into a more intimate scent bubble, lingering for a total of 7-8 hours. I tested it during a cool autumn evening walk, and it cut through the crisp air effectively.
