Notes & Nuances
Great Eagle of Arabia goes for the same sweet, rosy, oud vibe as Montale's Arabians Tonka, and it gets pretty darn close. The opening blast of saffron and bergamot is bright, but a little rough around the edges compared to the original. It's not as smooth. The heart leans heavily into a sweet, jammy rose mixed with that woody oud. It’s potent, just like Arabians Tonka. The drydown is where it deviates slightly. The tonka bean and amberwood are present, creating that warm, sweet base, but there's a slightly more noticeable synthetic woody accord here. I'd say it's 85% similar.
Bottom Line
If you're after the Arabians Tonka scent profile without the hefty price tag, Great Eagle of Arabia is a solid contender. It’s not a 1:1 dupe, the synthetic edges are noticeable, but it delivers the core experience. it's hard to complain. This is a great daily driver for cooler weather, date nights, or any time you want to make a statement without breaking the bank.
Performance Reality Check
This stuff projects! Expect a noticeable scent bubble for the first 3-4 hours. Longevity is solid too; I get a good 8+ hours on skin, and it lasts even longer on clothes. Be careful with the sprays. 2-3 is plenty. More and you might offend your coworkers.
