The Scent Profile
Rehab by Zoha Aroma opens with a surprising blast of medicinal lavender – think cough drops, but slightly floral. The bergamot is fleeting, just a quick citrus flicker before the woody heart takes over. Here, it diverges noticeably from its inspiration. Instead of smooth, creamy sandalwood, there’s a harsher cedar note that dominates, leaning towards pencil shavings. The vetiver adds a grassy earthiness, but the patchouli is dialed way down, preventing the depth and richness of the original. The drydown is primarily a musky wood accord, with a slightly synthetic, almost plasticky edge. There's a phantom sweetness lurking, perhaps from the guaiac wood, but it's faint and indistinct.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
This fragrance is best suited for cooler weather, specifically spring and fall days. It is too heavy and wood-forward for summer. I envision this worn casually during the daytime or a laid-back evening event. The synthetic qualities make it less appropriate for formal settings. It's a workhorse scent, built for utility rather than elegance.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is moderate, clocking in at around 5-6 hours on my skin. Projection is initially strong, reaching about an arm's length for the first hour, before settling closer to the skin. I tested it during a moderately warm day, working indoors in an office environment.
