Amber Oud Gold opens with a blast of bright citrus – orange and lemon mostly. It's a bit sharper and more synthetic than Erba Pura right off the bat, maybe 90% similar. The heart brings in that juicy peach and pear, and this is where it really leans into the Erba Pura DNA. However, Al Haramain’s version has a slightly powdery feel that's not as prominent in the Xerjoff. The drydown is all about sweet vanilla, musk, and amber. It's pleasant, but lacks some of the depth and complexity of the original.

Final Thoughts

Amber Oud Gold is a solid Erba Pura alternative. It's not a perfect match, maybe 90% there, but the price difference is massive. If you love the fruity, sweet, and slightly musky profile of Erba Pura, but can't stomach the cost, this is a great daily wear option. The synthetic edge is there, but it fades after the opening. This is a safe blind buy if you like the fragrance profile.

How Long Does it Last?

This stuff lasts. Expect 8+ hours easily. Projection is strong for the first 2-3 hours, then settles into a more moderate scent bubble. Careful on the sprays though, it can be cloying if you overdo it. Two sprays max.
