The Scent Profile
Bouquet Vanilla opens with a rough approximation of spiced tobacco, more like potpourri sitting next to a humidor than actual cured leaves. There's a medicinal cherry note, almost like cough syrup, fighting for dominance. The heart attempts vanilla, but veers into a Play-Doh territory, a sugary, starchy sweetness that lacks depth. The tonka bean adds some needed grounding, but it's quickly overtaken by a plasticky drydown with vague woody undertones. Compared to the inspiration, it mimics the broad strokes but misses the nuanced, boozy richness; instead, it offers a simpler, more linear sweetness. It's a recognizable cousin, but from the wrong side of the tracks.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is surprisingly decent, clocking in around 6-7 hours. Projection is moderate for the first two hours, extending about an arm's length, then it settles closer to the skin. I tested this during a chilly evening walk and a movie night indoors. Its projection is loud indoors, but quickly fades in colder outdoor temperatures.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
This fragrance is best suited for cooler weather, specifically autumn evenings. The sweetness is almost cloying, rendering it unsuitable for daytime wear, unless you prefer making a statement. It could work in a casual indoor setting like a bar with friends, but I would never wear it for an important event.
