Conclusion
Nashwa Oud is a respectable interpretation of Kobraa. If you're drawn to the idea of a smoky, slightly austere fragrance that suggests contemplation and quiet confidence, this could be for you. If you want something high end without breaking the bank it's perfect. It's for the person who doesn’t shout, but makes their presence known through a considered air. If you're happy with a compelling impression, save your money.
Olfactory Experience
Nashwa Oud kicks off with a blast of geranium – a bit sharper and more insistent than the smoother, almost peppery green found in La Gemme Kobraa. This initial difference gives Nashwa Oud a slightly more… affordable feel. The heart leans heavily into frankincense (olibanum), smoky and resinous, but lacking the nuanced depth of Bvlgari's rendition. Where Kobraa feels ancient and sacred, this feels… nice. The oud in the base is present, but somewhat overshadowed by the frankincense. It's less of a "living oud" and more of a "perfume oud." Overall, I'd say it captures about 91% of the original's vibe.
Projection Power
Longevity is surprisingly good. I get a solid 6-7 hours on skin, projecting moderately for the first 2-3 hours, then settling into a closer, smoky aura. On clothing, it lingers for days. A few sprays are more than enough; it could become cloying if oversprayed.
