To Buy or Not to Buy?
If you love the idea of Black Orchid but choke at the price tag, Oud 24 Hours is a worthy substitute. Just know you're getting a slightly less refined, sweeter version. Is Black Orchid ten times better? Debatable. Great for a beginner exploring dark, gourmand fragrances. Don't expect niche quality. Buy this if you want to experiment and not break the bank.
How it Smells
Oud 24 Hours comes on STRONG. You get that dark chocolate and truffle vibe immediately, like Black Orchid, but with a bigger, synthetic punch. It's maybe 85% similar in the opening. The gardenia and black currant are there, battling for attention. As it dries down, the spices and orchid peek through, trying to mimic Black Orchid's complexity. The base is where it veers off – the vanilla becomes more prominent here, making it sweeter and less earthy than the original's drydown. It's a decent imitation, but the quality difference is noticeable, especially side-by-side.
Wear time & Sillage
This stuff lasts! Easily 8+ hours on skin. Projection is beastly for the first 2-3 hours, then settles into a moderate scent bubble. Be warned: overspraying is a crime against olfactory senses. Two sprays max, seriously. It fills a room.
