The Scent Profile
Italiano Vivo aims for the fruity-floral elegance of Jeanne Lanvin Couture, and it gets surprisingly close, maybe 89%. The opening bursts with a tart raspberry and a crisp violet leaf that’s pretty well done. There's a noticeable "watery" note that's more pronounced here than in the Lanvin, adding a slightly synthetic edge. The heart is where they diverge a bit. While both share peony and magnolia, Italiano Vivo's plum feels a little sharper and less naturally sweet. The drydown is a fairly standard cedar-musk combo; pleasant, if unremarkable. It lacks some of the refined softness of the original's base.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is moderate. I get about 5-6 hours on skin, projecting softly for the first hour, then settling closer. On clothing, it stretches to 8 hours but becomes a very faint skin scent. This isn't a powerhouse by any means, so expect to reapply if you want all-day presence.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
Italiano Vivo is a solid deal. If you crave the Jeanne Lanvin Couture vibe on a budget, this delivers a respectable facsimile. The synthetic nuances are there, especially in the opening, but they're not deal-breakers. Is the original Lanvin ten times better, justifying its inflated price on the grey market? Absolutely not. A safe blind buy if you like fruity florals and want to save some serious cash.
