Final Thoughts
Tres Jour is a solid choice if you love Eclat D'arpege but don't want to spend the money. Yes, the original is smoother and more refined, but this gets you most of the way there . If you're sensitive to synthetic musks, sample first.
The Scent Profile
Tres Jour opens like a slightly greener version of Eclat D'arpege. That familiar lilac and tea note is there, but with a sharper, almost grassy edge. Not bad, just a bit more "in your face" than Lanvin's smoother touch. The peach blossom in the heart is nicely done, adding a delicate sweetness. I get the wisteria, too - that lovely floral powderiness. Where it differs most is in the base. The musk is a little heavier, a tad more synthetic. It's about 90% similar overall, just with some rougher edges in the opening and drydown.
How Long Does it Last?
On my skin, Tres Jour lasts about 4-5 hours. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then it becomes a skin scent. Perfect for the office or running errands. It won't fill a room, which is a good thing for this type of fragrance. Reapplication might be needed if you want it to last all day, but at this price, who cares?
