Vanity Femme Essence opens with a predictably bright blast of Sicilian lemon and tart apple. The cedar is immediately present, lending a slightly sharper, more synthetic edge than the original Light Blue. The initial impression is about 87% similar; the difference lies in the ingredient quality.

The heart develops quickly. Bamboo is detectable, lending a green freshness, however, the jasmine and white rose are less distinct and blur together. The drydown reveals a pleasant but simple cedar-musk accord. Amber provides a slight warmth, but it lacks the complexity of Light Blue's more nuanced base. The citrus lingers longer in Vanity Femme Essence than I anticipated.

How Long Does it Last?

Longevity is moderate. Expect around 4-5 hours on skin, projecting moderately for the first hour before settling closer. On clothing, it clings for a respectable 6-7 hours. It's suitable for daytime wear.

Is it Worth It?

Vanity Femme Essence captures the essence of Light Blue adequately, achieving approximately 87% similarity. The synthetic quality is noticeable, particularly in the opening cedar note, but forgivable given the price point.

If you enjoy Light Blue but balk at the cost, this is a reasonable alternative.
