Scent Breakdown
ÉCLAT 629 comes at you swinging with a spicy opening: nutmeg and cinnamon mostly. There's a cardamom kick, but it's less defined than Sauvage Elixir. The lavender in the heart is present, but plays a background role to the licorice that jumps out. It’s not a bad licorice, but it gives the scent a slightly "cheaper" feel than Dior's. The drydown brings sandalwood and amber which softens the initial spice bomb. It gets you 91% of the way to Elixir. It's close, but the materials don't feel as rich or rounded.
Final Thoughts
It's not a perfect match, the licorice note is a bit more prominent. It's a great daily driver for the office or a night out.
Projection Power
This stuff lasts! I get a solid 6-7 hours with decent projection for the first 2 hours. It’s not going to fill a room like Elixir, but people will smell you. Definitely above average for a clone at this price point. On clothing, it'll linger until laundry day.
