Pear Potion opens with a blast of juicy pear, aiming squarely for the vibe of Especially Escada. It's surprisingly accurate, maybe 85% there. The ambrette adds a slightly powdery touch, a bit less refined than the original. The heart brings in rose and a watery accord. The rose is present, but not as crisp or clean as in the inspiration. The ylang-ylang tries to add depth but comes off a tad synthetic. The drydown is a basic musk that lingers. It lacks the sophistication and brightness found in the original Escada.

How Long Does it Last?

Don't expect miracles. Pear Potion lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin, with moderate projection for the first hour. After that, it sits closer to the skin. It’s an "afternoon delight" – gone before dinner. it’s acceptable, but a fleeting experience.

The Verdict

If you crave the pear-rose freshness of Especially Escada on a tight budget, Pear Potion is a decent substitute. It captures the essence without breaking the bank. However, be aware of the synthetic edge, particularly in the heart and drydown. Pear Potion is a quick fix for a craving, not a long-term commitment. A good option for casual, daytime wear.
