The Verdict
Gary Den by FOMO is a worthy alternative if you crave the Dior Homme Intense experience on a budget. It's not a perfect match, the edges are rougher, less refined. But if you want that dark, iris-driven mood without the hefty price tag, this is an excellent option. Is DHI ten times better? No. DHI is smoother, richer, but Gary Den gets you close enough for everyday wear. Buy this if you want to project an air of confident mystery without breaking the bank.
Notes & Nuances
Gary Den opens with a burst of lavender, but it’s a touch sharper, more synthetic than Dior Homme Intense's plush floral. The bergamot's fleeting brightness hints at the DHI DNA, but the sage adds a slightly herbal, less polished edge. As it settles, the iris emerges. Here, it mimics the lipstick-y, powdery heart of the original, but it’s not quite as velvety. There's a definite pear note present; a juicy sweetness absent in DHI. The base attempts DHI's woody-leathery sophistication, but the cedar is more prominent, the leather dialed down. It's a solid 86% similar to the original, capturing the essential iris-masculine vibe.
Projection Power
Longevity is surprisingly decent. I got around 6 hours on my skin, with moderate projection for the first 2. It's not a beast, but it’s respectable point. Don't expect it to fill a room, this is a scent that creates a personal aura.
