To Buy or Not to Buy?
Azzure Aoud is a solid budget option for those curious about the Oud Maracuja profile. it's a decent performer. If you're looking for absolute realism and smooth blending, you'll need to shell out for the original. But, if you want a fruity-oud fragrance for everyday wear and don't want to break the bank, this is a worthwhile contender. For me? I'd rock this clone casually without shame.
The Scent Profile
Azzure Aoud opens with a blast of passionfruit – bright, almost aggressively fruity. You get the saffron's slight spice, but it’s definitely leaning synthetic. Compared to Oud Maracuja, it's aiming for the same target, but lacks the original's nuanced, almost photorealistic passionfruit. The heart is where the oud kicks in, alongside a noticeable patchouli. It's a drier, less refined oud than Crivelli's, more akin to a wood chip than a precious resin. The drydown settles into a leathery amber accord. It's pleasant enough, but the initial fruity sharpness lingers longer than it should. I'd estimate it captures about 85% of the Oud Maracuja vibe.
Projection Power
Longevity is surprisingly good. I got a solid 6-7 hours on skin. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then it sits closer. Don't expect to fill a room; this is more of a personal bubble scent after the initial burst.
