The initial burst is a fruit cocktail: Pineapple is present, though less smoky, paired with a slightly sharper, more synthetic bergamot than the original's. The apple note is noticeable, adding a sweet dimension not as prominent in Aventus. The heart features birch, imparting a smoky-woody accord, but lacks the refined smokiness of the original. Jasmine and patchouli are present, though somewhat muted, providing a subtle floral-earthy counterbalance. The base leans heavier on a vanilla-infused musk than Aventus, adding a touch of sweetness that deviates from the drier, more oakmoss-centric drydown of its inspiration.

Longevity is moderate. I observed around 6-7 hours on skin. Projection is initially strong, creating a noticeable scent bubble for the first hour, then gradually settling closer to the skin. Respraying is necessary to maintain presence. While it doesn’t perfectly replicate the nuances of the original, particularly the smoky birch and oakmoss, it captures the essence of the fruity-woody profile. This is a worthwhile purchase for those seeking an Aventus-inspired scent without the Creed price tag. The original, with its higher quality ingredients and more refined composition, is undeniably superior, but the cost differential makes Addicted Intense a viable option for casual wear.
