How it Smells
Magnate Premiere nails the Bergamot 22 vibe pretty well. The opening is a bright, citrusy blast of bergamot and grapefruit, with a slight herbal touch from the petitgrain. It's zesty, uplifting, and very similar to the Le Labo. The heart moves into a grassy vetiver and cedar mix. I will say here, the Khadlaj leans slightly more woody and musky than Bergamot 22 which maintains its citrus edge all the way through. The base is a warm, ambery musk with a hint of vanilla. It’s a solid interpretation, maybe 92% close to the original. I do detect a slight synthetic edge in the drydown, but it's not a deal-breaker.
Projection Power
Longevity is decent. I get about 5-6 hours on my skin. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then settles closer to the skin. It won't fill a room, but you'll get occasional whiffs throughout the day. Perfect for the office.
Is it Worth It?
It's a great everyday scent – clean, fresh, and inoffensive. I wouldn't say it replaces the original completely, but it's a fantastic daily driver. this is a no-brainer. Grab it.
