If this scent were a character in a movie, it would be the overly enthusiastic sorority sister who tries way too hard to be liked and ends up spilling her sugary cocktail on everyone.

How it Smells

Chic Velvet Vert Secret opens with a fleeting juniper berry note, quickly overtaken by an intensely saccharine apricot accord. This is not a fresh, juicy apricot. Think more along the lines of candied apricot, bordering on cloying. The heart attempts to introduce apricot blossom, but it’s overshadowed by the dominant, sugary fruit. As it dries down, the promised cotton flower emerges, but it’s a synthetic musk rendition, reminiscent of dryer sheets used to mask something unpleasant. It veers further away from a true floral, and leans more towards a basic body spray. This differs greatly from its supposed inspiration; instead of a delicate floral, this delivers a syrupy sweetness with a synthetic undertone.

How Long Does it Last?

Longevity is surprisingly moderate, clocking in at around 4-5 hours. Projection is initially quite strong, filling a small room for the first hour, before quickly receding to a skin scent. I tested this during a moderately active day and found the synthetic musk amplified with perspiration, creating a somewhat acrid aura.
