The Scent Profile

Jorge di Profondo kicks off with a blast of that familiar aquatic DNA – a near dead-ringer for Acqua di Gio Profondo. The sea notes are there, but they've got a slightly sharper, more synthetic edge than the original. It's noticeable, but not offensive. The heart leans heavily on rosemary and lavender, and it actually smells pretty decent. The cypress adds a touch of green. This is where it starts to deviate from Profondo, becoming slightly more herbal. The drydown is a mix of mineral notes, musk and patchouli. The patchouli is dialed down – again, a difference from the original. I'd say it's about 89% similar to Profondo.

Is it Worth It?

Jorge di Profondo is a solid alternative if you're after the Profondo vibe on a tight budget. The synthetic edge is noticeable, but it's not a dealbreaker. If you're not a fragrance snob and simply want a good-smelling, aquatic fragrance that won't break the bank, this is a worthy contender. Buy it if you want the smell and don't care about the brand name.

Projection Power

Longevity is surprisingly good . I get about 5-6 hours on skin with moderate projection for the first hour or two. After that, it sits closer to the skin. It's definitely a "spray and go" fragrance – reapplication is necessary to maintain its presence.
