Kalos by Maison Alhambra aims for Parfums de Marly's Kalan, and gets respectably close. The opening blasts spices and a juicy blood orange note, mirroring Kalan's initial impression. However, a synthetic edge is present, especially in the peppery spice blend. It lacks the smoother, refined quality of the original. The heart reveals lavender and orange blossom, leaning slightly sweeter here than Kalan. The drydown is where the biggest difference appears. Kalos delivers a woody, slightly mossy base, but the expensive ambergris quality of Kalan is absent. I'd peg it at about 92% similar overall.

How Long Does it Last?

This clone performs adequately. I get about 6-7 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first two hours, settling closer to the skin afterward. Not beast mode, but certainly usable for a workday or evening out. You'll likely need to reapply for a full night.

Kalos is a solid budget alternative to Kalan. If you crave the Kalan DNA without the hefty price tag, this is a worthwhile gamble. The synthetic nuances are noticeable, but difference (you can buy 10 of these for one Kalan), it's a compromise many will gladly accept. It's a safe blind buy for those who enjoy spicy, woody fragrances. If you demand absolute luxury and the most refined ingredients, stick with the original. Otherwise, save your money and enjoy Kalos.
