Final Thoughts
Man Black Edition is a solid pick-up. It’s a respectable substitute for Bentley for Men Black Edition. This is a great way to get that scent profile without breaking the bank. A worthwhile dumb reach fragrance.
First Impressions & Dry Down
Man Black Edition copies Bentley for Men Black Edition pretty well, I'd say around 92%. The opening has that signature peppery citrus, though Maison Alhambra's version uses a sharper tangerine note. The violet is there, but not as smooth. The heart is where it deviates slightly; the papyrus and earthy notes are more pronounced and a little rougher around the edges compared to Bentley’s smoother rendition. The dry down is all about a woody, mossy tobacco – where it gets closest to the original. You definitely pick up a synthetic edge, especially early on, but it fades as it settles.
Longevity & Projection
Longevity is decent. I get around 5-6 hours on my skin, with moderate projection for the first hour. It quickly becomes a skin scent. Don't expect beast mode. Reapplication will be needed if you want it noticeable throughout the day.
