First Impressions & Dry Down

Montaigne Vanille, by Maison Alhambra, presents a streamlined composition, primarily built around Iso E Super. The opening is immediately recognizable as inspired by Molecule 01; a cedar-like, abstract woodiness is apparent. The "velvet notes" listed are a slight deviation. This adds a barely perceptible creaminess, a subtle rounding compared to the stark dryness of the original. The cedar facet becomes slightly more pronounced in the dry down, lending a sharper, almost pencil-shaving quality. Overall, this is approximately 89% similar to Escentric Molecules 01. The key difference is the missing ambroxan that gives Molecule 01 its unique lift and longevity.
