First Impressions & Dry Down
My Party bursts open with a candied strawberry and tart raspberry accord. It's less fresh fruit and more like those hard candies you get at grandma's house. The pear note is subtle, adding a touch of syrupy sweetness. As it develops, the floral heart emerges, dominated by a sweet peony note and jasmine that lacks a bit of the original's intoxicating depth, smelling thinner and somewhat shampoo-like. The drydown leans heavily on patchouli, but it's a clean, almost soapy version rather than earthy or chocolatey. The white musk adds a soft, powdery finish, but there's a lingering, slightly synthetic edge reminiscent of hairspray that separates it from the inspiration.
The Performance Stats
I get around 5-6 hours of wear from My Party. Projection is moderate for the first hour or so, extending to about an arm's length, then it quickly settles closer to the skin. I tested it during a busy workday. It didn’t turn any heads on the train, and by lunchtime it was a skin scent, requiring a respray if you want to keep the aroma going.
The Verdict
My Party is best suited for spring or early summer days. It’s light enough for daytime wear, but the sweetness makes it more appropriate for casual outings than professional settings. Think brunch with friends or a relaxed afternoon of shopping. I wouldn’t suggest it for a hot summer night; the cloying sweetness might become overwhelming.
