The Scent Profile

Russe Leather from Maison Alhambra comes roaring out the gate with that pine, basil, and rosemary combo – just like Memo's Russian Leather. But, and this is a big but, it's a little rougher around the edges. The opening is greener, almost aggressively so, and lacks the smooth, almost creamy quality of the original. The heart shifts to lavender and cedar, with a touch of spice from the coriander. This is where it starts to diverge a bit, becoming slightly more herbal and less refined. The drydown is heavy on the leather and cypress, with a hint of tonka. The leather accord leans more synthetic than the birch tar leather of Memo, it's close, maybe 92%, but that synthetic tang is detectable.

Longevity & Projection

This one performs admirably . Expect around 6-7 hours of longevity with moderate projection for the first 2 hours. It sits closer to the skin afterwards, creating a subtle, masculine aura. It's a great work scent, never overwhelming, but always present. It's not a 1:1 dupe, that synthetic edge in the leather note is the give away, but it captures the essence of the original . If you're craving that rugged, masculine, green leather scent but don't want to drop serious cash, this is worth a look. This will scratch that itch nicely.
