Salvo Intense opens with a sharp, almost astringent bergamot, like grapefruit peel macerated in gin. The pepper note is assertive, edging towards a freshly cracked black peppercorn that tingles the nostrils. The heart introduces a less refined lavender than expected, more of a herbal, slightly bitter infusion rather than a calming aroma. Pink pepper adds a fleeting sweetness, but the Sichuan pepper dominates, lending a metallic, almost electric buzz. The dry down is where the divergence is most noticeable. Ambroxan is present, providing that modern ambergris warmth, but the cedar smells papery and thin. The labdanum adds a resinous touch, yet lacks depth, settling into a vaguely synthetic amber accord.

Wear time & Sillage

On my skin, Salvo Intense lasts approximately six hours. Projection is strong for the first two hours, extending about an arm's length. I tested it during a casual day of errands and a brisk evening walk. It performed adequately, though the synthetic notes became more apparent in warmer conditions.
